Aug. 22nd, 2007 - A free girls lacrosse clinic will be held in Clearwater on August 31st.  There will be many highly respected womens college coaches speaking at this clinic.  flier

ST PETE FRIDAY NIGHT PICKUP GAMES STARTING JUNE 22ND
June. 14th, 2007 - The St Petersburg Lacrosse Club will be sponsoring Friday night pickup games in St Pete beginning June 22nd from 7pm to 9pm and running through August 31st. The age group is middle school through post-collegiate. JAGUARS LACROSSE CLUB - BOYS 4TH THROUGH 8TH GRADE
May 9th, 2007 - The Jaguar Lacrosse Club is a new post-season club operating during the months of May and June.  It's an opportunity for those who did not participate during the regular season to play and learn the great sport of Lacrosse. GIRLS VARSITY JUST SHY OF WINNING THE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
May 5th, 2007 - The girls varsity team gave undefeated Freedom High School a scare on Friday night in the WFLL league championship game.  The score was close for most of the game before Freedom knocked in a few late goals to win the game 9-5.  Dragons goalie Stephanie Perkins was stellar in goal all game and was awarded game MVP honors.  Congratulations to the girls team for an exciting season.

BOYS VARSITY COACH FRANK COLLOVA SELECTED AS COACH OF THE YEAR
May 5th, 2007 - Coach Frank Collova was selected as the WFLL boys high school varsity league coach of the year.  Congratulations Frank.  All of your hard work and dedication is not only recognized by the St Pete Dragons program, but also by all of the head coaches in the WFLL.

NIKE/US SPORTS CAMPS GIRLS LACROSSE DAY CAMP
April. 19th, 2007 - The Nike/US Sports Camps for girls will be at Ed Radice Sports Complex in Tampa from June 25th through 28th.  This is a day camp that will run from 9:00am - 3:00pm daily.  Camp director will be Limestone College Head Coach Scott Tucker.  link

GAMEBREAKER LACROSSE CAMP IN CLEARWATER- JUNE 4TH THROUGH 7TH

CLEARWATER JAMBOREE GAME SCHEDULE - 2/3/2007
Jan. 27th, 2007 - The Clearwater jamboree game schedule for Saturday Feb. 3rd link.  The girls will play at Countryside High School in Clearwater (3000 SR 580, Clearwater), and the boys will play at Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex (2450 Drew St, Clearwater).  Admissions will be $2 for adults and $1 for children. Coaches and players get in free. Coaches and players get in free.

2007 SEASON START DATE - TUESDAY JANUARY 9TH
We are happy to announce that the 3rd season of St. Pete Dragon Youth Lacrosse will begin on Tuesday January 9th at 6:30pm at Meadowlawn. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30pm, and Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm. We will be fielding the following teams:

1. Youth - boys and girls through grade 5 (no contact)
2. Middle School - boys and girls grade 6-8 (minimal contact)
3. Girls High School - girls in grades 7-12 (girls grade 6 and under option available)
4. Boys High School - boys in grades 9-12 (full contact)


Registration: Player registration will be held during practice on Saturday January 13th at 11:00am at Meadowlawn.  We will also have an equipment supplier present with equipment to  purchase. If you are new the sport, feel free to come out to practice on January 9th and 11th to give it a try. There will be extra sticks available to use if you do not have one.

To register, three actions must be taken:
1. Team Registration - The form is online at http://www.stpetelacrosse.com/forms/index.htm . The fee is $125. You can bring the form and payment to practice on January 13th.
2. US Lacrosse Membership - Membership in US Lacrosse is mandatory for all participants. This must be done directly with US Lacrosse via their website http://www.lacrosse.org . Membership supports the growth of lacrosse, provides comprehensive medical insurance, and includes a subscription to Lacrosse magazine. You must supply your US Lacrosse member number on the Team Registration form.
3. City of St. Pete ID Card - As with all city-sanctioned sports, the city requires that all youth sport participants obtain a city-issued ID card. We'll have handouts on this program at practices and you can learn more at http://www.stpete.org/rec/Images/RegistrationProgramweb.pdf . The cost is $5 for city residents.

The clinic will be run by the St Pete youth coaches.  No equipment will be necessary for the clinic, and if you don't have a stick don't worry. Extra sticks will be available for use.

ST PETE MENS SUMMER PICKUP GAMES
June 1st, 2006 - The St Petersburg Lacrosse Club will be hosting summer pickup games on Friday nights from June 16th to July 28th.  The games are open to all high school, collegiate, and post-collegiate players, and the cost will be $25 per person for the entire summer. The games will be played at Sawgrass Park from 7:30pm to 9:00pm and the teams will be split up each night. If interested, email splax@tampabaylacrosse.com .

HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TEAM MAKES THE 2006 PLAYOFFS
Apr. 12th, 2006 - The Dragons high school boys team made the 2006 playoffs and will play at Freedom High School in Tampa this Thursday April13th at 7pm.  Congratulations to the team and coach Frank.  Go Dragons!

TAMPA BAY UNDER 19 TEAM FORMING
Mar. 25th, 2006 - The Tampa Bay area is forming a U-19 (under 19 years old) team to compete on a national level during the off season. ST PETE/CLEARWATER UNDER 15 TEAM FORMING - PLAYERS NEEDED
Mar. 19h, 2006 - The St Pete and Clearwater youth programs are combining to form a middle school team to travel to Orlando from June 24th to 26th. REGULAR SEASON GAMES BEGIN THIS WEEK
Feb. 7th, 2006 - The Dragons regular season games begin this week with the girls high school team hosting Freedom High School on Wednesday night at 6:30pm, the boys high school team hosting Jesuit High School Thursday night (JV game at 5:30pm and varsity at 7:00pm), and the youth team hosting New Tampa on Saturday at 10:00am.  All games will be played at Meadowlawn field.

SATURDAY PRACTICE AND SUNDAY JAMBOREE CANCELED THIS WEEKEND
Feb. 3rd, 2006 - Due to the massive rain today, and what is expected this weekend, the Saturday practices and Sunday jamboree are canceled.  The boys and girls high school teams will practice at 6:30pm on Monday night, then resume the normal practice schedule beginning Tuesday the 7th.

GIRLS PRACTICE CANCELED FOR 1/30/2006
Jan. 30th, 2006 - Due to the rain the girls practice is canceled for Monday Jan. 30th.  The next practice will be this Thursday at 6:30pm.

!JAMBOREE 1/28/06
Jan. 27th, 2006 - The middle school age boys (6th through 8th grade, and the 9th graders that coach Frank said could play) have been invited by the Clearwater middle school team to play with them at the jamboree Saturday.  If you are interested, please be at Joe Dimaggio Park by 10:45am.  Look for coach Tony or coach Frank when you get there.  Game Schedule link; Field Directions link.

PRACTICE INFO FOR 2006 SEASON
Jan. 4th, 2006 - We are happy to announce that the 2nd season of St. Pete Dragon Youth Lacrosse will start next week. As we did last season, we will field three teams this year:
1. Youth Team - open to boys and girls through grade 7 (minimal contact);
2. Girls High School team - open to girls in grades 8-12 (no contact - NCAA women's rules);
3. Boys High School team - open to boys in grades 8-12 (full contact).
We will start practice next week for the boys and girls high school teams only. Practice will be at Meadowlawn field (6050 16th St. North, St. Pete, behind Northeast High School). For NEXT WEEK ONLY, we will practice on Monday and Wednesday night from 6:30 - 8:30pm. After next week, we will practice every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:30 - 8:30pm for the Youth and Boys High School teams. Practice for the Youth team begins Tuesday night, January 17th. Practice after next week for the Girls High School team will be every Monday and Thursday night from 6:30 - 8:30pm. We will also have Saturday practices for all teams from 11am to 2pm starting Saturday, January 21.

Registration: This year we will have a Registration Day for ALL TEAMS on Saturday, Jan. 14 at Noon at the 31st Street South Sports Complex in St. Pete (4801 31st St. South, St. Pete, online directions at: http://www.tampabaylacrosse.com/tampajam/06jam/06fields.htm). At 1pm, the Tampa Bay Thunder men's team will play at the same complex. Also, on this date, Team Up Sports will be on site with full equipment packages available for purchase (their pricing is very good - contact Bob Griffey at teamuptampa@aol.com).

TEAM PICNIC - May 14th at Ft De Soto Park

GIRLS JAMBOREE - April 9th at Coquina Key Field in St Pete
April 2nd, 2005 - The St Pete girls team (Beach Team), will host a girls jamboree on Saturday April 9th for all local girls teams.  The details of the jamboree, including field directions and game schedule, are located here.

Jan. 29th, 2005 - The Clearwater youth program will be hosting a jamboree for all youth programs, to include the youth level, Middle School, High School, and girls teams.  Click here for the game schedules and field directions.

NEW PLAYERS WELCOME
Jan. 22nd, 2005 - Team practices have already begun but new players are still welcome.  Come on out to see if lacrosse is for you.  Sticks are provided at practice for new players to borrow. 

TEAM PRACTICES BEGIN TUESDAY JANUARY 18th, 2005
Jan. 11th, 2005 - Practice will begin for all boys and girls ages 5 to 18 on January 18th at Meadowlawn Field at 6:30pm.  The first two weeks of practice will run on Tuesday and Friday from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, and Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm, then beginning February 1st the Friday practice will move to Thursday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
The registration details are included on the registration form. Please be sure to download the form and either bring it to the first practice or mail it to the address listed on the form.  There is an early registration fee of $75 if paid by January 18th.

ST PETERSBURG YOUTH CLINIC
Dec. 4th, 2004 - Boys and girls ages 5 to 18 are invited to attend a free youth clinic Saturday Dec. 11th at 2pm in St Pete to help promote the new St Petersburg youth program.  You do not need to own any equipment or a stick to attend the clinic.  The coaches that will be running the clinic will have extra sticks for everyone to use.  The purpose of the clinic is to introduce the game to newcomers and to answer any questions players or parents may have about the game and the upcoming season.  Directions to Sawgrass Park

ST PETERSBURG YOUTH CLINIC
Oct. 14th, 2004 - There will be a free youth clinic this Saturday at 4pm in St Pete to help promote the new St Petersburg youth program.  Players of all ages and teams, including the old guys, are invited to attend.  If you are a player or a coach and would like to help teach the new kids how to pass and catch, please join us.  We will be at Sawgrass Park on Saturday the 16th from 4pm to 6pm.  link

LACROSSE IS COMING TO ST PETERSBURG.....
Sept. 1st, 2004 - The St Petersburg Lacrosse Club (SPLC) Executive Committee began distributing fliers this week throughout the City of St Pete in search of players for the upcoming 2005 lacrosse season.  The committee is searching for boys and girls ages five years old to High School seniors to compete in the West Florida Lacrosse League (WFLL).  The WFLL will begin it's third season in February 2005 after two extremely successful seasons.  Existing programs in the WFLL include Clearwater, South Tampa, Brandon, Wesley Chapel, Sarasota/Bradenton, and Citrus Park, along with additional High School teams such as Tampa Catholic, Plant, Newsome, Freedom, and the Tigers Lacrosse Club (Jesuit students).  The High School division also plans to expand next season to include Ft Myers and Naples teams.
A free clinic is scheduled for October 16th, 2004 at the Meadowlawn fields in St Pete (6050 16th St North, St Pete), which will also be our home fields for practices and games when the season starts in February.  Former High School and College players will be on hand to teach newcomers how the game is played and to answer any questions parents or  players might have.  If you do not have a lacrosse stick for the clinic, not a problem. There will be extras sticks at the clinic for everyone to use. 

West Florida Lacrosse League - The WFLL season officially begins on January 18th, and finishes on May 1st, 2005.  All St Pete teams listed below will be included in the WFLL season.  The High School team is projected to play 15 to 20 games, and the rest of the teams will play 10 to 12.  League meetings will begin in November 2004 to confirm the actual game schedules.
Practice will begin on Tuesday February 1st at Meadowlawn and will run weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, and on Saturdays from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
Games will begin the first week of March and will be scheduled in place of various practice days throughout season.  The seasons for all teams will end on "championship weekend", which will be held on April 30th and May 1st.

High School - 9th through 12th Grade
Middle School - 6th & 8th Grade
Youth and Recreation - 5 to 11 Years Old
Girls -  Will play in the age groups above or split to a girls only team.

Player Registration - Player Registration is $90 per player with an discount for early payment of $75 if received before January 18th.  The check can be made payable to  "St Petersburg Lacrosse Club" and can given to one of the coaches at the first practice on January 18th.
Lacrosse equipment is also required but not included in the registration fee.  Full equipment packages can be purchased through the team for as low as $200.  Please email the address below for questions regarding equipment.
